Dymond Hayes is the fresh new face for the Miss Black America CoEd national pageant system. This is Dymond 1st national title. The 22-year-old is an honor graduate of Spelman
College with major in political science. Currently, she is an Business Account Executive at AT&T. Her ultimate goal is to an open a
non-profit that benefits women with terminally ill diseases, and to work in
corporate America within the governmental affairs and strategic sourcing
departments. During her reign, she will promote her
platform entitled “Make the
Impact of a Lifetime through Breast Cancer Awareness and Early Detection!”
Having lost a grandmother to breast cancer and with her mother’s 2003 breast
cancer diagnosis, it is highly likely that Dymond will be diagnosis with breast
cancer at some point in her life. It is because her family history that she is
so passionate about getting others to join the fight against breast cancer.
Dymond desires that cancer patients and their families will no longer hear the
words “We’re sorry but there is nothing else that can be done” due to her
efforts. She has raised over $30,000 for breast cancer research since 2003. As
Miss Black America CoEd Dymond wants to encourage her community to live a healthy,
happy, lifestyle and in doing so they will improve their chances against breast
cancer, heart disease, among many other diseases that heavily impact the black
community.
Miss Black America CoEd encourages high-scholastics, community service, and self-esteem though several age division competitions including: Miss Black Texas Princess 5-9, Miss Black Texas Preteen 10-13, Miss Black Texas Teen 14-17, Miss Black Texas 18-27, and for wives, mothers, and professional women, Ms. Black Texas 21-40.
